FAO’s scoping mission for strengthening the Extension and Communication for Development National System in Paraguay

Specialists from the Office of Knowledge Exchange, Research and Extension (OEK) of FAO met with representatives of the Paraguay government to identify opportunities to strengthen the Extension and Communication for Development National System between May 22nd to 27th.

The specialists held meetings with the Ministry of Agriculture, Enzo Cardozo Jiménez; the FAO representative in Paraguay, Jorge Meza, as well as with officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and independent agencies.

As a preliminary activity to share best practice and expertise FAO specialists conducted a “Participatory Seminar to transfer knowledge, experience and lessons learned in other parts of the world”. This was held in the Directorate of Agricultural Extension to share the cutting edge developments in Extension and Communication for Development at the national level and in the Latin America region.
